On 9 July 2025, the University Council of Nuremberg University of Music unanimously confirmed Prof. Dr Renate Reitinger and Prof. Maren Wilhelm in their roles as vice presidents.

The re-election of both members of the Executive Board symbolises continuity, professional strength, and confidence in the university's future development.

Prof. Dr. Renate Reitinger has held various management positions at the university for many years, including Vice President, Dean of Studies and Head of Department, as well as serving on central committees. She is particularly committed to further developing the organisation of studies, system accreditation and the overarching strategic design of teaching and studies.

President Prof. Rainer Kotzian praised her re-election as a strong sign of stability:

"Prof Reitinger has a profound understanding of university structures, coupled with a reliable eye for practical implementation. Her many years of experience and her structured thinking are an asset to the entire university."

Prof. Maren Wilhelm will also continue her work as Vice-President. As Professor of Music Theory, Head of Department and Head of Study Programmes at NUM since 2018, she has provided significant impetus for teaching and academic development. As Vice President for Transfer and Internationalisation, she plays a pivotal role in shaping the university's social and international profile.

She played a leading role in conceiving and implementing the university's International Week, and she heads the Transfer and Internationalisation committees. She is also active on numerous other committees, including those focusing on digitalisation, teaching, examinations and scholarships.

President Kotzian emphasises:

'Professor Wilhelm embodies innovative ideas, methodological clarity, and an impressive blend of strategy and operational execution. She has visibly advanced the university, particularly in terms of internationalisation and the promotion of young talent.'

Both vice presidents have many years of university experience and a clear creative drive, as well as a high level of professional recognition. Their commitment, networking skills and different perspectives form the basis of strong, collegial presidential work.

"I am very much looking forward to continuing to work with Prof. Reitinger and Prof. Wilhelm, as well as with the entire university management," said President Kotzian. 'The Executive Board acts as a strong, trusting team that drives forward the strategic development of our university together and with great responsibility.'
