News Event Live transmission of the joint concert on BR-Klassik

Students from the three Bavarian Universities of Music in Nuremberg, Munich and Würzburg gave their sixth joint concert on Wednesday 17 January 2024 at the BR Funkhaus in Munich. BR-KLASSIK broadcast the concert live on radio from 19:05.

The focus was on Bavarian women composers from three centuries. Works by Wilhelmine von Bayreuth (1709-1758), Luise Adolpha Le Beau (1850-1927), Isabel Mundry (*1963) and Rebecca Trescher (*1986), among others, were performed in Studio 1 at 7 pm.

The aim of the joint concert is cooperation and joint artistic work. Each participating university is represented in the programme not only by its own ensembles. Mixed ensembles of students from the Nuremberg University of Music, the Würzburg University of Music and the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich also perform together: Yesterday, for example, they performed Dufay arrangements by Isabel Mundry (professor of composition in Munich) and a jazz composition by Rebecca Trescher (alumna of the Nuremberg and Munich conservatoires). There were also several chamber music works - including a trio for voice, violin and piano by Luise Adolpha Le Beau - and premieres by composition students.

They were joined by various compositions for chamber music - including a trio by Luise Adolpha Le Beau for voice, violin and piano - as well as world premieres by composition students.

The joint concert has taken place in Munich, Würzburg and Nuremberg in alternate years since 2019. The concerts are designed to promote musical exchange between the students and to make the close links between the universities visible and audible to the public.

The evening was hosted by BR-KLASSIK presenter Annekatrin Hentschel.
