News Federal Programme for Women Professors 2030

We are proud of our achievements: Our concept for gender equality submitted in summer 2023 has been positively evaluated by the review panel in the first round. Congratulations to all involved!

The Federal Programme for Women Professors (Professorinnenprogramm) is an initiative of the federal govenment and the States’ governments with the aim of supporting female scientists and artists on their way to professorship and counteracting the "leaky pipeline" phenomenon. The term "leaky pipeline" refers to the fact that the proportion of women decreases with each level of professional qualification.

As a next step, the Nuremberg University of Music (NUM) can now apply for financial support for specific professorships held by women.

The positive evaluation is an important milestone in the NUM's gender equality work, the stated aim of which is to increase the still extremely low proportion of women in professorships and to achieve parity in appointments.
