News Event Symphony concert in the Meistersingerhalle

On Sunday 23 November 2025, our symphony orchestra gave a successful and very moving premiere performance with the Hans Sachs Choir in the main hall of the Meistersingerhalle. The composer, Johanna Doderer, was present to oversee the performance of her piece, 'The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse'. The programme also featured "Death and Transfiguration, Op. 24" by Richard Strauss and Mozart's "Requiem, K. 626".

The Viennese composer and the performers effectively realised the vision of the end times, of victory and defeat, with soaring choral voices, harsh wind accents and powerful percussion, building up to the hymn-like 'Komm und sieh'. This was a German premiere in the composer's presence, and he is predicted to have a remarkable future.

The Musikhochschule Orchestra succeeded in evoking the inevitability of death, from the quiet beginning to the stormy climax, with typical Straussian orchestral colours and a flawless performance."
