Shiori Katsura received her first violin lessons from Eri Yokoyama and Nicolas Richter. From 2012 to 2019, she studied with Aki Sunahara, deputy concertmaster of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. From 2016, she also studied with Prof. Daniel Gaede at Nuremberg University of Music. After graduating from high school in 2019, she enrolled on the Bachelor's degree programme in his class, and has been studying on the Master's degree programme since the winter semester of 2024/25.
She has won several prizes at the "Jugend Musiziert" competition in both the solo and ensemble categories.
She was a member of the German National Youth Orchestra from 2014 to 2019, and an academy member of the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra from 2023 to 2024. This was followed by a one-year temporary contract with the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen.
