Each year, the Free State of Bavaria honours up to 17 artists with the Bavarian Art Promotion Award. These are awarded in four categories: music, visual arts, performing arts (including dance), and literature. The selection is made by an independent jury of experts. Individuals receive 7,000 euros, while ensembles receive up to 12,000 euros.

Nuremberg University of Music is delighted to announce that the Barock_Plus ensemble from Nuremberg and musician Jovana Wolf have won the 2025 Bavarian Arts Promotion Award in the music category. The awards, which are endowed with 7,000 euros for individuals and up to 12,000 euros for ensembles, were announced by the Bavarian State Ministry of Academic Affairs and the Arts.

Barock_Plus, an ensemble consisting entirely of NUM graduates, inspires audiences with its fresh concert formats and colourful arrangements that interpret early music in a contemporary way. With its innovative programmes, the ensemble builds bridges between eras, captivating specialist and new audiences alike. The jury particularly recognised their courage in reinterpreting tradition in such a lively and captivating way.

Jovana Wolf, a NUM Nuremberg graduate who works as a singer, guitarist, songwriter and composer, was also honoured. The musician from Fürth combines rock, punk and jazz with socially critical lyrics, inspiring audiences with her energetic performances. Her uncompromising and touching songs make her an authentic voice of a young, self-confident generation.

The Bavarian Art Promotion Awards ceremony will take place on 18 November 2025 at the Bergson Kunstkraftwerk in Munich. It will also be the first time that the winners of the new Bavarian Art Prize will be honoured there.
