Dr. Esther Fee Reinhardt Lecturer in Artificial Creativity and Music Interaction

Dr. Esther Fee Reinhardt is an expert in artificial intelligence (AI) and sound. She studied computer science and musicology at Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg.

She subsequently completed her PhD at the International Audio Laboratories Erlangen, a joint research facility of the Fraunhofer IIS and the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU). Her research focuses on optimising artificial neural networks for timbre analysis in audio signals.

Dr. Reinhardt’s expertise extends far beyond her academic work. As an improvisation coach and composer, she engages intensively with human creativity and relates this to the current mechanisms underlying hypothetically creative AI systems. Exploring this contrast and making the opportunities presented by the rapid development of AI accessible to more artists are two central components of her work as a researcher and lecturer.
