News Success Tabea Wink wins German Music Competition scholarship

Recorder player Tabea Wink (class of Prof Jeremias Schwarzer and Prof Maurice Steger) has once again won a scholarship at the German Music Competition. Congratulations!

Tabea Wink, born in 1998, is an internationally sought-after recorder player from Nuremberg.
She is currently studying Recorder with Prof Jeremias Schwarzer and Prof Maurice Steger at the Nuremberg University of Music.

Last year, Tabea also completed postgraduate studies in polyphonic Renaissance music at the "Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo" in Porto, Portugal with Prof Pedro Sousa-Silva.

Tabea was recently awarded the Scholarship of the "German Music Competition" 2025, the 1st Prize of the "International Handel Competition 2023" with her ensemble "Barock_Plus", the RAM Scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Louis Spohr Music Prize and the 1st Prize at the "International Recorder Competition Tel Aviv" in the category of contemporary music.

She also won the TONALi scholarship in 2024, which includes a prize of 10,000 euros and three years of coaching. Last year, she also recorded her debut CD in Mallorca with pianist Pau Cladera-Marroig.

With the "Duo Energico", Tabea won first prize at the "International ORDA-competition Amsterdam" and the Royal Wind Music Prize.

From 2011 to 2018, Tabea was the first prize winner of the German national youth competition "Jugend musiziert".

From 2016 to 2018, she was a junior student at the Nuremberg University of Music and before that a student of Annette Berryman at the Städtische Musikschule Braunschweig.

Tabea has performed as a soloist with the Braunschweig State Orchestra, the Warsaw Symphony Orchestra "Sinfonia Varsovia", the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, the Israeli Barrocade, the Cieszyn Symphony Orchestra and the Göttingen Baroque Orchestra.

Tabea has been supported by the "LYRA" Foundation, the Forberg-Schneider Foundation, the Menuhin Foundation "Live music now", Kinderklassik, the "Jugend musiziert Niedersachsen" Foundation, the Dr M. Wagner Foundation, the Sparda-Bank Hanover Foundation "Note um Note" and is a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation.
