News Success Simona Hellwig sponsored by the German National Academic Foundation

The Academic Foundation supports students whose talent and character suggest they will make significant contributions to the public good. Congratulations to Simona Hellwig, an elemental music teacher and jazz singer in the classes of Prof. Rainer Kotzian and Prof. Filippa Gojo, on being accepted into the programme!

Born in Speyer, Simona Hellwig discovered her singing voice at an early age and began taking classical singing lessons at 12 years old. After graduating from high school, she attended the Sulzbach-Rosenberg School of Music. There, she trained in musical theatre and ensemble conducting. She then received a one-year scholarship at the Performing Arts Studios in Munich. Since 2021, she has been studying Elemental Music Pedagogy at Nuremberg University of Music, specialising in Jazz Vocals and Children's Dance. She has since received the Germany Scholarship for 2023/24 and won first place and other prizes at the 2023 Children's Song Composition Competition. She has been a member of the Student Council since 2022, serving as press spokesperson and as a longstanding member of K2 and the Sustainability Jour Fixe. Since September 2024, she has been a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation.
