The soloists were selected from the university's singing classes, while the orchestra comprised instrumentalists from the NUM. The large choir comprised over two hundred singers from across the Nuremberg metropolitan region who joined forces with members of the university choir for this project.
Christoph Schäfer, a lecturer in conducting at the NUM, directed the performance of Orff's "Carmina Burana", which was musically impressive and multifaceted. Combining musical quality with a participatory approach, the performance sent out a strong signal for cultural cooperation between the Nuremberg University of Music and the Nuremberg region.
