The two Master's students Theresa Sixl and Zihan Chen planned and prepared the event as part of the "Music Pedagogy Project" course (lecturer: Corina Nastoll). Following a brief welcome in the university foyer, the "KinderUni Rap," which was created especially for this event, got the party started with music and energy. After that, the kids participated in an interactive presentation where they were taught different practice techniques. They first heard Zihan Chen play the piano and then sang along with her, assisted by Theresa Sixl.
The kids were then given the chance to continue their musical education in small groups, as well as to construct a practice treasure chest and load it with their own original practice ideas. Zihan Chen performed a masterful piano demonstration in the lecture hall, showcasing the various applications of the treasure chest cards for at-home practice. The KinderUni concluded with a brief performance for the parents, in which the kids, led by Theresa Sixl, gave a spirited rendition of their prepared material and invited the adults to join in.
The Department of Culture and Leisure of the City of Nuremberg provides the KinderUni educational program.
