Maarja Helen Oserov began studying the violin in Estonia at the age of five. She completed her Bachelor of Music degree at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne in Switzerland under the tutelage of Prof. Pavel Vernikov, and at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre under the guidance of Prof. Mare Teearu. She completed her Master's degree at the Saar University of Music in David Grimal's violin class.
She is currently studying for a Master's degree in contemporary music at Nuremberg University of Music with Prof. Daniel Gaede.
She has won several prizes in competitions, including second prize in the London Classical Music Competition in 2022 and the Estonian National Competition-Festival for Strings, as well as first prize in the Concorso Musicale Europeo Città di Filadelfia "Paolo Serrao" in 2014.
She has also participated in numerous masterclasses led by renowned musicians such as Leonidas Kavakos, Thomas Brandis, Pavel Berman, Silvia Marcovici, Petru Munteanu, and Thomas Christian. She has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in many European countries and is a member of the Accademia dei Cameristi Bari.
From 2018 to 2020, Maarja played in the chamber orchestra Kremerata Baltica, founded by Gidon Kremer. With Kremerata Baltica, she performed in many of the world's leading concert halls and recorded for Deutsche Grammophon.
In the 2022/23 season, Maarja was part of the Saarland State Orchestra and performed with Les Dissonances, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Nuremberg State Theatre, the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, among others.
