Karolin Schamel was born in Kulmbach in 2013. She began taking violin lessons at the age of four in Bayreuth with Kiichiro Mamine, using the Suzuki method. She performed in her first concerts at the Christuskirche in Bayreuth under the direction of Mamine and Sabine Peetz. The following year, she participated in a seven-day masterclass called 'Musikatelier für Kinder' in Neuhaus am Schliersee, led by Aiko Mizushima and Sonja Korkeala.
From the age of six, she intensified her violin lessons with music teacher Sabine Peetz, who has since promoted her musical talents extensively, enabling her to perform regularly in public, e.g. as a church service accompanist and in concerts in churches and retirement homes.
At the age of eight, Karolin won first prize at the regional Jugend Musiziert competition, and has also performed successfully in other competitions, e.g. in Dresden. She has been a pupil of Prof. Dr. Reto Kuppel since 2023, enrolling as a junior student in his class at the Nuremberg University of Music in 2024.
She has since participated in numerous masterclasses under the direction of Anna Sophie Dauenhauer, Christine Maria Höller, and Katharina Uhde. Karolin's greatest successes to date include winning first prize in the 2025 Bavarian Youth Music Competition. She won the highest possible prize in her age group.
