News Personnel Felix Winkler has taken up the temporary professorship of horn

On 1 October, Felix Winker, principal horn of the Augsburg Philharmonic Orchestra, will assume the temporary professorship of horn. He has led the horn class at the Leopold Mozart College of Music at the University of Augsburg since 2018 and is a highly sought-after lecturer for various youth orchestra. We are delighted to welcome him to Nuremberg University of Music!

What are you most looking forward to in your new position?

I'm eager to get to know the students at the NUM and help the horn class develop further. I'm excited by the prospect of the intensive workload and collaboration!

What is your impression of the Nuremberg University of Music?

Having worked as head of the horn class at the LMC in Augsburg, I have so far experienced an innovative university in a wonderful building with motivated staff and faculty. Even the qualifying exam convinced me that we will do our best to train students here.

What are your goals and vision for your professorship?

My goal is to support students in developing their talent and potential. I hope to draw on my experience of seven years' teaching. I would like to prepare students as thoroughly as possible for their future careers. The demands placed on modern professional horn players are many and varied.
