News Personnel Alice Morzenti receives professorship for flute

The Italian Alice Morzenti is one of the most outstanding and internationally recognised flautists of her generation. Since 2013, she has been the principal flautist at the Staatsphilharmonie Nürnberg. She has taught orchestral studies at Freiburg University of Music and was, until recently, Professor of Flute at Trossingen University of Music. From 1 October 2025, she will hold a professorship at the Nuremberg University of Music. We warmly congratulate her on this new position!

What are you most looking forward to in your new position?

I am looking forward to working as a professor in Nuremberg. This role will fulfil me both professionally and personally, as I am already established here at the Staatstheater. The professorship strengthens my connection to this city, which has long been my second home. I am excited by the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and experience to students, while also becoming more involved in Nuremberg's cultural life.

What is your impression of the Nuremberg University of Music?

I think the university is simply beautiful! I love its location: peaceful by the Wöhrder See, yet close to the vibrant city centre. The modern, inviting rooms create an inspiring atmosphere in which teaching, creativity, and dialogue with students flourish.
What are your goals and visions for your professorship?

What are your goals and visions for your professorship?

I want to support young musicians who want to make music their profession. I want to focus on dedication, passion, honesty and musical sensitivity, offering an education that places these values at its core. It is particularly important to me to recognise and promote the unique personalities of all my students, helping them to develop their full potential and prepare for professional life.
